Where Your Dasha Starts

Your Moon sign decides the start point. Look at your birth nakshatra. Each nakshatra belongs to a ruling planet. If you were born in Ashwini, you start with Ketu dasha. If you were born in Rohini, you start with Moon dasha.

Levels Within a Dasha

A main period is called a Mahadasha. Inside it sit smaller periods. These are called Antardasha or Bhukti. Each sub-period mixes two planets. The main lord sets the theme. How to Read a Dasha
