North Indian vs South Indian chart layout
Both styles carry identical data. In the North Indian (diamond) chart the twelve house positions are fixed on the page and the sign numbers rotate with your lagna. In the South Indian (square) chart the twelve signs are fixed in a grid, starting with Aries at the top-left, and the lagna is marked in its own box.
