About us

Five Generations of Knowledge. One Evolving Legacy.

From the traditional wisdom of a small village in Unnao to a modern platform for Astrology, Numerology, Vastu, Palmistry, Graphology, Face Reading, Tarot and allied sciences — Astrometry is the continuation of a family journey spanning five generations.

Our story begins in Village Alipur, District Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, where knowledge was not separated into neat modern-day disciplines.

In earlier generations, Jyotish and Vaidya traditions were often practised together. Understanding the individual meant looking at the person as a whole — their physical constitution, circumstances, timing, temperament and the larger patterns surrounding their life.

That approach to knowledge became part of the Avasthi family tradition and continued to travel from one generation to another.

The Legacy

Five generations, one thread

The First Generation

Pt. Guru Prasad Avasthi

The documented family tradition begins with Pt. Guru Prasad Avasthi, who practised both Jyotish and Vaidya knowledge.

For him, these were not simply subjects to be studied separately. They formed part of a larger traditional system of understanding human life, health, time and circumstance.

The knowledge acquired through study, observation and practice became the foundation of what the next generation inherited.

The Second Generation

Pt. Kamta Prasad Avasthi

Pt. Kamta Prasad Avasthi continued the tradition of practising Jyotish alongside Vaidya knowledge, carrying forward the learning received within the family.

In an era when much traditional knowledge was transmitted personally rather than through formal institutions, observation, experience and oral teaching played an important role in preserving these practices.

The Third Generation

Pt. Shiv Lal Avasthi

With Pt. Shiv Lal Avasthi, the family tradition developed a stronger scholarly dimension.

A Sanskrit scholar and school teacher, he chose education and the teaching of Sanskrit as his profession.

His life strengthened the family's relationship with Sanskrit, classical texts and structured learning — all of which are deeply connected with the study of Jyotish and traditional Indian knowledge systems.

Through him, the tradition was not merely preserved; it was connected with scholarship and teaching.

The Fourth Generation

Sh. Ishwar Chandra Avasthi

The knowledge, interest and respect for Jyotish, Sanskrit and traditional Indian systems of learning continued through Sh. Ishwar Chandra Avasthi.

Like many family traditions, not every generation expressed the knowledge in exactly the same professional form. What remained constant was its transmission — through discussions, books, observations, family learning and continued engagement with the subjects.

The Fifth Generation

Saurabh Avasthi

With Saurabh Avasthi, this inherited tradition entered a new phase.

The challenge was no longer simply to preserve traditional knowledge.

It was to study it, question it, organise it, teach it, test it through thousands of examples and make it usable for the modern learner.

This became one of the foundations of Astrometry.

From Family Knowledge to a Modern Learning Ecosystem

Astrometry represents the meeting point of legacy and contemporary learning.

We respect traditional knowledge, but we do not believe tradition should remain inaccessible, unquestioned or restricted to memorising rules.

Our approach is built around four ideas:

  1. 1Learn the principle.
  2. 2Understand the logic.
  3. 3Apply it to real cases.
  4. 4Observe whether it works.

Today, Astrometry brings together learning and practice across:

Vedic Astrology • Parashari Astrology • Bhrigu Nandi Nadi • Nadi/KP • Nakshatra Astrology • Ashtakavarga • Numerology • Vastu • Palmistry • Face Reading • Graphology • Signature Analysis • Tarot • Jamakkol • Healing Sciences and more.

Our courses, books, research, consultations and software are different expressions of the same purpose: to make deep traditional knowledge understandable, applicable and relevant to the present generation.

Astrometry's growing software ecosystem takes this philosophy one step further.

Instead of technology replacing knowledge, we believe technology should help a student apply, practise and understand knowledge better.

Our vision is therefore not simply to tell someone a prediction. It is to help serious learners understand:

  • What was observed?
  • Which principle was applied?
  • What factors supported the conclusion?
  • What contradicted it?
  • And how was the final judgement reached?

Learn Deeper. Practise Better. Predict with Confidence.

Saurabh Avasthi

Co-Founder, Astrometry

Author • Teacher • Psychological Astrologer • Graphology Expert • Advanced Life Coach • Spiritual Researcher

Saurabh Avasthi represents the fifth generation of the family's association with Jyotish and traditional learning.

His professional journey, however, did not begin in astrology.

With a background in management and marketing, he worked in the corporate world with organisations including Colgate-Palmolive, Vodafone, Hindustan Times and Askmebazaar, before eventually choosing to dedicate himself fully to teaching, research, writing and personal transformation.

His work today brings together disciplines that are usually studied in isolation.

He works extensively with Vedic Astrology, Bhrigu Nandi Nadi, predictive techniques, Nakshatras, Numerology and Graphology, while also exploring the relationship between astrology, psychology, behaviour and human potential.

As an Advanced Life Coach, his interest extends beyond predicting events to understanding patterns — why people repeatedly make certain choices, how beliefs and behaviour influence outcomes, and how traditional knowledge can be used for greater awareness rather than fear or fatalism.

This philosophy is also central to Astrometry:

A horoscope should not make a person helpless.

Knowledge should increase awareness, choices and possibilities.

Saurabh has trained and interacted with learners across multiple levels — from complete beginners to practising professionals — and his teaching style focuses strongly on application, combinations, case studies and predictive reasoning rather than memorisation alone.

Palmistry & Face Reading Teacher • Tarot Practitioner • Vastu Expert • Healer • Author

If Saurabh's work represents the analytical and predictive side of Astrometry, Meenakshi Awasthi brings together intuition, observation, healing and practical wisdom.

A Chartered Accountant by education and a qualified Fashion Designer by passion, her journey itself reflects an unusual combination of analytical thinking and creativity.

Over the years, she developed deep expertise in Palmistry, Face Reading and Tarot, becoming a teacher and practitioner of these subjects.

Her work subsequently expanded into Vastu, Pranic Healing, energy work and Clinical & Spiritual Hypnotherapy, giving her approach a wider perspective that considers the emotional and energetic dimensions of a person's experience.

Her teaching is particularly focused on making subjects such as Palmistry and Face Reading observable and practical.

Rather than asking students to simply remember hundreds of isolated meanings, the emphasis is on learning how features interact:

  • A line cannot always be read alone.
  • A facial feature cannot always be interpreted alone.
  • A card cannot always be interpreted outside its question and context.

It is this combination-based approach that also informs Astrometry's Palmistry, Face Reading, Tarot and related software systems.

Meenakshi is equally involved in the healing dimension of Astrometry, where the objective is not prediction but release, balance, emotional clarity and personal transformation.

Books by Meenakshi Awasthi

  • DIY VASTU: Ancient Wisdom for Modern Homes
  • Tarot Scrap Book
  • Cord Cutting Healing: Freedom from Invisible Ties
  • Book of Remedies: A Comprehensive Collection, co-authored with Saurabh Avasthi

Her books reflect the two dimensions of her work — learning the symbolic sciences and applying practical methods for inner healing and transformation.

The Legacy Continues — But It Does Not Stand Still

Five generations are important to us. But legacy, by itself, is not enough.

Every generation has to earn the right to carry knowledge forward.

For Astrometry, that means preserving what is valuable while remaining willing to study, question, research, experiment and improve.

Traditional Jyotish once travelled through handwritten notes, Sanskrit texts, oral teachings and conversations between teacher and student.

Today, the same journey can also happen through:

BooksLive classroomsRecorded learningCase studiesResearchInteractive toolsIntelligent software

The medium has changed. The purpose has not.

  • To understand deeply.
  • To learn responsibly.
  • To apply knowledge intelligently.
  • And to pass it forward.
