Mangal Dosha appears when Mars sits in certain houses. These are the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th and 12th houses from the ascendant. Some astrologers also count from the Moon and Venus.
Why the Fear?
Mars is fire. It brings drive and conflict. In marriage houses, that fire can create friction. This is why families check for it before a match. But the dosha is not a verdict. It is one factor among many.
When It Cancels
The dosha weakens or cancels in many charts. A few common rules:
